This project deals with the concept of concealing, with the idea of how I could hide something or prevent something from being known. Within the context of fashion I designed a garment with the opposing idea which exposed the body. The starting point for this project was to get broad research into different approaches of concealing identity, and a main subject within an image using photography and editing within photoshop. Exploring the use of water, condensation and mirrors I generated imagery which I was able to adapt in different forms. I chose to explore and experiment with a wide range of techniques into how I could translate my research into a pattern based print. Using imagery from my photographs, I mimicked patterns, creating constructed textiles with melting plastics. These patterns from the plastics were photographed and placed on silk screens so I could screen print with. After testing out many approaches and deciding what worked best, I came to the conclusion with a print and adapted it within a concept of a dress which I visualised for my final piece. My print was printed on a light weight, sheer material which was able to expose features of the body.
