Over the period of the course I have chosen to specialise in 3D Design because I'm interested in Interior Design. My year 1 final major project is called "Hidden". The project deals with the issue of privacy within a home and how things could be hidden within a home to make it appear less cluttered. The starting of this project was simply just me exploring the different ideas of "Hidden". I went around taking pictures of hiding places that I could find within the home, around the park and within the college building. I also did some contextual research on some designers who have created work that I think relates to "Hidden". I also created some mind maps full of possible ideas moving forward. This really helped me with what idea I should carryout towards the end of my project. I have chosen to experiment with wood, metal, paper and clay to create small samples of structures that create some sort of hiding / private space within the home. Next year I'm looking to develop more skills within 3D design and further my knowledge on Interior Design.
