For my FMP I chose to work with Illustration and animation as it was my interest throughout the course and I thought I could express my idea best that way. My animation: The Skills of the Game, expresses how basketball is played between different groups, including standing basketball and wheelchair basketball. I started by developing an understanding of how wheelchair basketball is played and the different skills used in both sports. I was interested in the moves they use to get past players and the difference in techniques between the two. I experimented with media but chose markers as they gave me the consistent vibrant colours I wanted to express emotion and passion. This course has allowed me to learn more about different types of art and developing my skills them which I really enjoyed doing. Next year I want to develop my illustration skills more and get a portfolio together for university or employment.
