The name of my project was Die Trying.

The project let me focus on the world building of making games, rather than it being purely mechanics based.

I experimented with 3D modelling and animation and texturing.

I used Unity and Blender to finish my project.

Die Trying

The project is a JRPG(Japanese RolePlaying Game) style game. The game is a 3D, roleplaying game, where the player controls a character that navigates the environment using the keyboard. The player will navigate through four themed areas: Grassy Gardens which acts as the tutorial, Dire Desert, Goblin Garrison and Mystic Mansion.

My project is a heavily story driven game, following a character as they develop and progress through the trials ahead of them. The game has a character fighting various animals and monsters as they progress through the levels, and each level will have different enemies to fit the theme.

The first level is a basic tutorial, to get the player used to the combat system, which is where the game gets its name from: the more the player dies, the stronger their character becomes. The second level will involve more combat, and will finish with a puzzle section, to introduce the player to the puzzle mechanics. The third level will be a raid on the military base that’s overrun with goblins, and the last will be escaping the haunted house, through puzzle solving.
