BA (Hons) Illustration

On the course I’ve chosen to specialise in illustration.  Two of my favourite projects are “The Tomato Revolution” and my FMP  based on consumerism.

The tomato revolution takes an object and a word and merges them together to create a high concept idea of a restaurant where people gather to plan a revolution.

I chose to experiment with different ideas including digital and traditional media.

Consumerism during COVID-19 deals with the issue of people’s spending during the pandemic. I chose to experiment with different ideas including scanning in scratch cards and lottery tickets to create interesting textures and backgrounds.

I am interested in the relationship between mixed media and digital, and my final pieces were created traditionally then re-worked digitally.

Overall, my experience on Foundation has been great!

A steep learning curve having not been in education for 10 years. I had a lot to not only learn but also experience. I immersed myself fully into every project and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. It has helped me massively and I will use this knowledge to improve with my future endeavours.
