My FMP project is called 32,000 parakeets. This colourful project deals with the issue of invasive species thriving in completely new environments. I chose to experiment with the bright green of the parakeets against Englands grey landscape. The starting point for this project was how they are here and where they came from. I am interested in the question between should they stay or go, and the publics balanced opinion on their benefits and issues. For example, people like the nice looking tropical birds yet they are eating farmers crops. Within the art-working I used some graphical alternatives as an advantage to show better visuals throughout the story mixed with illustrations. More so, I used an ipad with editing tools to aid my book layout process. Within the story, I use a ring necked parakeet character to show its origins, capturing, shipping, captivity, freedom.
