Progression.
Progress to next year/ level of study
I chose to specialise in fashion and textiles because I did textiles in secondary school and have shown a big interest in it and wanted to develop it further. I decided to call my Final Major Project ‘expandable clothing’. I decided on having this as my theme after doing research on maternity and disabled friendly clothing. My project was made to be accessible for everyone allowing everyone to have an option of clothing. I experimented with fabrics because I had specifically found a liking for the sewing machine. I was able to find new techniques and explore new ways with the sewing machine to create sample pieces. I decided to create a piece out of a garment to show what I had been focusing on. Next year I am looking forward to carry on my interest with textiles and fashion and to continue working on the sewing machine to create whole garments.
