Building portfolio for university application

My final major project was jewellery based, and deals with the issue of multi-cultural differences. Increasingly society is seeing different people with different cultural linage coming together as couples, weddings and building lives together. Although this is very positive, I was interested in issues regarding mixed cultures “fitting in” , and therefore my jewellery was based on multiple cultural designs and wedding rituals.

I have really enjoyed exploring materials throughout this project and chose to experiment with metals, woods and paper to develop a much greater understanding of each material. there was also wiring on a gem, wood carving and a few other things I have learnt on the way. For my project I wanted something with variety and challenge to help me improve.
